ABOUT
Theresa Thomas moved right across Canada from Vancouver’s West Coast to Halifax’s East Coast and worked as a social activist in the housing field. In the early ’90s, Theresa developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (Environmental Illness). Wanting to return to society as soon as possible, Theresa researched all she could about this debilitating immune dysfunction and helped many others on their journey to wellness.
Coincidentally, almost 1,000 employees of a local hospital experienced a workplace injury due to mismanagement of a ventilation system chemical. These employees initiated the No Scents is Good Sense campaign across Nova Scotia. Fragrance industry representatives, feeling the pinch of diminishing sales in the region, decided to advertise to the children. At this point, Theresa knew something had to be done.
Not strong enough — or rich enough — to combat the ads on the children’s programs, Theresa knew that those youth would be experiencing health issues at increased levels. She believed the attack on her health had been unusual and feared that it would soon become the norm among the young people using all of these products.
Theresa remembered her childhood when incidences of immune disorders were rare in contrast to the explosion of health issues children and families are confronted with today. Seeing a connection between the increased levels of illness and the increased use of chemicals, Theresa began working in earnest to educate and coach people about how to prevent or reduce symptoms.
Theresa is passionate about educating new parents and families to prevent health issues from occurring.
She also wants to help families whose children have or are prone to health challenges. Through the information in this book, speaking engagements and online and in-person programs, Theresa believes parents can learn how to avoid or reduce the impact of the growing onslaught of chemicals on their daily lives. Join her Going Green Together Facebook group to connect with others on the same journey, share information and find support from new friends.
When not on the front lines teaching people how to take their health back, you can find Theresa leading ancestral ceremonies and healing programs, giving Instant Miracle™ and Reiki sessions, enjoying family, traveling, nurturing her garden and enjoying her elephant collection.
